Merry Christmas from the Haliburton Highlands

Well, Karen is at home for a few weeks, Allison is in the Florida Everglades with an out-tripping group; Maria is on her way to India soon for a long awaited vacation. Joe and the other members of the team are off to their homes for the holidays with family and friends. For us… well the Hartman family is planning to stay here and enjoy the beauty of Bark Lake for the holidays this year! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We are in the middle of some exciting changes here at Bark Lake Leadership Centre. We are about to launch our new website with more functionality and useful options for our guests. We have updated our logo, signs, and colours, but our passion for developing and delivering challenge-focused programming in this unique Canadian setting has not changed!

As usual, our professional staff and facilitators excel in a variety of fields. They are still the highly-skilled outdoor educators you have come to expect, however, with our renewed focus on customer service, we like to refer to our facilitators as “your concierge in hiking boots”. Hard and soft skills! What a concept! (We hosted five weddings this year, with rave reviews!)

We have been considering your input through our guest evaluations and are making some exciting improvements across the board! Some different activities, new shingles and fresh paint here and there, brick by brick,  (or log by log) we are advancing toward that practical and high-functioning Bark Lake Leadership Centre that provides great hospitality, good food, challenging programs, and of course, Nature!

There’s more than one way to roast a marshmallow!
