Annual Autumn Open House

We, Bark Lake Leadership and Conference Centre (1551 Bark Lake Drive, Irondale), are hosting our First Annual Autumn Open House!
Come and explore Bark Lake for an exciting afternoon of family fun and adventure! Discover what’s new and experience some of our favorite activities: Climb the Phoenix (climbing tower), try Archery, High Ropes, Voyager Canoeing and much more. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to meet Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue’s animal ambassadors (Fox, Porcupine, Opossum and more).
Over the past year, we have gone through so many changes! Some recent developments include; renovating historic Bark Lodge, installing a brand new climbing tower, building a large washroom and shower facility, designing and launching a fresh new logo, website and roadside sign, upgrading the Tamarack Section and increasing our summer capacity by adding platform tents. There is never a dull moment!
We are so excited to be in our 69th year and offering a space for outdoor education, retreats, special events, weddings, conferences and so much more. These new renovations, innovations and additions will be showcased during this event. Visitors can join our staff for the day and will have the opportunity to explore the grounds, paddle the waters, grab a bite to eat and participate in a number of activities.

WANT TO MAKE A DAY OF IT? – Hike Haliburton at Bark Lake
Salut Coureurs du Bois! Join the Voyageurs from Bark Lake for an interpretive hike and paddle around the lake, back through history to the days of the Fur Trade. After a paddle from the main camp to the Voyageur Outpost, enjoy a campfire with Voyageur songs, stories and legends. After some fellowship, fun and food (delicious bannock) the adventure takes you into the woods for a hike along Bark Lake’s Counn trail. As part of our crew, you will explore Bark Lake and learn more about the lives of the Voyageurs. Suitable for adults, teens and children, 8yrs or younger, must bring their own PFD.

DURATION: 4 hrs, 1 km by canoe, 3 km on trail

LEADERS BIO: The Bark Lake team washed up on the shores of Bark Lake, lost in time since the days of the Voyageurs. Since then they have been working at the Leadership Centre, facilitating program and hoping to one day find their way back to Montreal to deliver their load of furs.
